| No roads penetrate this rugged region of Annapurna, Everest, Langtang, Dolpo and Mustang, though a few narrow airstrips for Short Takeoff and Landing craft (STOL) have been carved out of the mountainous terrain.
Inhabited by friendly ethnic people, the remote settlements scattered across Nepal's rugged mountains are to this day connected only by foot-trails. Nepal naturally offers a wide choice of excellent treks – with the backdrop of the highest mountains on Earth.
While the most popular seasons are October – November and March – April, trekking can be done year round. Passes above 4,100 meters (14,000feet) may be snowbound from December through March, but lowland routes come into their own at this time. The summer months are admittedly soggy, but rain shadow regions like Mustang and Manang remain relatively dry.

Annapurna Treks
This is the most popular trekking region in Nepal, visited by 70 percent of all trekkers, and for good reason. You will be walking through rhododendron forests over the foothills of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Deep valleys and high mountains encircling the giant Annapurna Himal embrace a wide range of people and terrains, from subtropical jungle to a geographic extension of the high, dry Tibetan Plateau. The topographical diversity allows a wide range of treks of varying difficulty, from easy foothill hikes to challenging high-altitude treks & climbing expeditions. |

Everest Treks
This classic walk has a clear-cut goal; to see Mt. Everest, Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chomolangma in Tibet. The highest mountain in the world continues to lure adventures as ever. This region is very popular and has a lot to offer, from the interesting inhabitants – the Sherpas – and their fascinating Buddhist culture to Himalayan giants including five of the world's ten highest peaks, and over the glaciers to the foot of Everest for the view of a lifetime. |

Langtang Valley / Gosainkund Helambu Treks
This National Park protects a high Himalayan valley that stretches north from Helambu all the way to the Tibetan border. The glaciated valley of Langtang separates the Langtang Himal of the main Himalayan range from the lesser 5,000m (16,500 feet) summits of the Gosainkund Lekh to the sough, and offers and excellent alternative Nepal trek. |
